One warm October night in New York City in 2021, there was a party thrown by the Jewish organization Chabad for the holiday Simchat Torah on a closed-off street in the Upper East Side. As fate would have it, Matt and Chantelle both attended this outdoor party. Matt was talking to a friend and Chantelle and her friend were moving through a crowd when she stopped up at arm's length in front of him. As their eyes met, Matt flashed her a smile and she smiled right back.

They started talking, their friends unaware that history was being made right in front of them. Matt didn't have his phone with him because of the holiday, so Matt found Chantelle on Facebook. When she asked him to guess the spelling of her full name, Matt got it right on the first try. He reached out to her the next day and spoke a little with her before her trip to Spain. When she got back, they made plans for their first date at The Milton on 92nd St. and 2nd Ave...
